The Bachelor's degree in computer science and data analytics combines a solid foundation in computer science with advanced data analytics and modern artificial intelligence (AI) tools, and prepares you to solve economic problems and make data-driven business decisions.
In the first degree programme, students are introduced to quantitative tools, statistical methods, and econometric models that are essential for data analysis. From the first semester onwards, they learn the principles of programming and operating information systems, and also work with databases, using the possibilities of artificial intelligence.
Students learn data analysis at different levels of aggregation, modelling, forecasting and risk management. In the first degree programme, they also learn about key issues in microeconomics, macroeconomics, finance and management.
Students profile their study path by choosing a number of subjects.
A graduate in computer science and data analytics after first degree studies can start work as:
- a business analyst, finding employment wherever economic decision-making needs to be preceded by in-depth quantitative analyses using information technology;
- a data scientist, working with data of different aggregations;
- an artificial intelligence specialist designing and applying machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions;
- an IT manager, with risk and portfolio management skills, who will be able to function creatively and effectively in the 4.0 economy on an international scale;
- an IT systems architect, information broker, designer of business IT solutions, designer of websites and web services, IT audit specialist;
- an analyst using in his/her work knowledge and skills related to modelling and forecasting of economic and financial quantities and valuation of financial instruments (quant).
Graduates can continue their education in second-cycle studies or postgraduate studies.
